The Development
Initial concept generation through hand sketches. Review meeting to gain feedback and progress 2 concepts into detailed development.
The Challenge
Less abled and elderly consumers with arthritis or other dexterity limiting conditions can have trouble gripping two halves of a pair of connectors. The existing Connectors were reported to be difficult to use from an install/maintenance aspect as well as difficult to use from the experience of the customers as previously mentioned.
The function of the Connectors is such that:
- The directional control cables are required to be disconnected at any time
- The polarity of the directional control cables is required to be reversed
Our Solution
- 3D Printed prototypes proposed and approved at Board level.
- Supply Chain route organised.
- Over Moulds for the Connectors prototypes have been quoted for at 3 UK suppliers.
- An international supplier is being agreed to mitigate risk of lack of supply.
